Islamabad, Feb 4: In January 2025, the cement industry experienced a significant boost in local dispatches, reaching 3.895 million tons, a 14% increase compared to 3.414 million tons in the same month of 2024. According to the latest data from the All-Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), export dispatches saw an impressive 30% growth, with volumes rising from 447,000 tons in January 2024 to 582,000 tons in January 2025.

However, the cumulative dispatches for the first seven months of fiscal year 2025 (7MFY25) showed a slight decline of 1.7% year-on-year (YoY), totaling 26.827 million tons.

Breaking down the dispatches for 7MFY25, local dispatches dropped by 7.6% YoY, while export volumes surged by 31.5%, reaching 5.392 million tons during the review period. In the northern region, local dispatches grew by 11.9% YoY, and export shipments increased by 21.4% YoY in January 2025. Meanwhile, in the southern region, local dispatches rose by 10.6% YoY, and exports soared by 31.3% YoY in the same period.

This data highlights the resilience of the cement industry despite overall fluctuations in domestic demand. The export sector, in particular, continues to show remarkable growth, indicating the global competitiveness of Pakistani cement manufacturers.
