The Sindh government has decided to recruit 2000 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) in police investigation department. The project is meant to reinforce the law enforcement administration and system of justice in the province.
It was decided in a high level meeting presided over by the Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah who had attended the IG Sindh and the Additional Chief Secretary Home, Secretary Services and other senior officials. According to the Chief Secretary Shah, public trust will further be augmented by increasing the investigative capabilities of the police force because an improved investigation system equates to quick justice and lessened crime.
He ordered officials to clear all obstacles in the process of recruiting ASI Investigation officers. SS Sindh further added that these new appointments will enhance quality of police Investigations leading to prompt justice and a decisive action against criminal activities.

Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh published a new version of its Grey Book with details of 81 highly wanted criminals who are involved in murder, attempted murder, kidnapping for ransom, armed robberies and police encounters. The addressed updates of the Gray Book will be shared with all law enforcement departments in order to detect and capture the dangerous offenders within the province.
Police investigation recruitment of 2,000 ASIs will help promote the province a great backbone within the investigative framework, and the security framework of the province in general.
