The Sindh government has approved the recruitment of 2,000 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) for the police investigation wing to strengthen law enforcement and improve the justice system, ARY News reported Friday. The move is aimed at boosting investigative capacity and ensuring faster, more effective action against crime.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, attended by IG Sindh, the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), the Secretary Services, and other senior officials.

Chief Secretary Shah emphasized that enhancing police investigations is key to building public trust. “Recruiting new ASIs will help the police conduct thorough investigations, deliver faster justice, and control crime,” he said. He also asked officials to remove any obstacles in the hiring process immediately.

IG Sindh welcomed the initiative, noting that the additional ASIs would improve investigation quality and ensure strict action against criminal activities.
