Islamabad, 18 Apr 2025: KP Still Await Ramzan Relief Packages even after the holy month has ended and Eid festivities are over, leaving over 200,000 eligible residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) still in anticipation of the much-hyped financial aid.
According to a detailed report by 24NewsHD TV channel, the provincial government’s pledged assistance remains undelivered for many.
Relief Program Marred by Bureaucratic Hurdles
The Ramzan and Eid support initiative, designed to offer Rs. 10,000 per household to over 10 million families, has been severely disrupted due to technical malfunctions, administrative missteps, and identity mismatches, insiders disclosed.
While the announcement created hope among the underprivileged, its execution has fallen short, with major setbacks halting the program’s progress.

Official figures show that assistance was committed for 10,016,395 families. However, discrepancies involving Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), incorrect personal data, and unresolved digital verification issues have caused delays for hundreds of thousands who still haven’t received the aid.
Over 200,000 Still in Waiting Line
Although the Social Welfare Department reports that around 805,000 beneficiaries have received their payments, another 200,000-plus individuals are still left in the lurch.
These citizens, many of whom are living below the poverty line, had been counting on the funds to support their families during the sacred month and Eid.
Qasim Ali Shah, the KP Minister for Social Welfare, acknowledged the delay, stating, “We faced several technical disruptions, but our team is working consistently to resolve the complications and ensure the remaining recipients receive their rightful share.”
Systemic Gaps Exposed in Welfare Management
This delay has drawn criticism from social analysts and political observers who believe the situation exposes a broader flaw in the welfare infrastructure.
The inability to validate and process applications efficiently points to a lack of coordination, especially during times when speed and precision are most needed.
Despite Shah’s reassurance that efforts are being made to resolve the matter, many still feel abandoned. “It’s not just about the money it’s about being seen, heard, and cared for by the system,” said a local citizen still waiting for his share.
