Islamabad, Aug 13, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) double-shift schools have been launched to expand access to education for children living in remote regions.
Under this initiative, selected schools will run a second shift, allowing students from far-off areas to study without facing long travel times or overcrowded classrooms.
According to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s spokesperson, Faraz Ahmad Mughal, the program will bring in over 2,500 teachers on a temporary basis — including 1,804 primary and 639 secondary school educators — all hired on contract. Applications can be submitted either to local district education offices or via the education department’s official website.
The spokesperson highlighted that the provincial government has set aside a record education budget and is investing in better school facilities. Efforts include training teachers, introducing modern teaching techniques, and raising the overall quality of education.
