Islamabad, Dec 30: The number of cellular subscribers and 3G/4G users in Pakistan decreased slightly in November 2024 compared to October 2024, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The total number of cellular subscribers dropped from 193.309 million by the end of October to 193.238 million by the end of November. Similarly, the number of 3G and 4G users also decreased from 139.123 million to 139.037 million during the same period.
Additionally, the penetration rate for Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) declined from 57.02% in October to 56.9% in November. Total teledensity, which measures the number of connections for every hundred people in the country, decreased slightly from 80.3% to 80.1%.
The number of 3G users decreased from 2.08 million in October to 1.54 million in November, while 4G users rose from 49.861 million to 50.19 million. 3G subscribers decreased from 1.89 million to 1.86 million, but 4G users increased from 38.12 million to 38.30 million.
The number of 3G users decreased from 1.434 million to 1.388 million, while 4G users decreased slightly from 25.478 million to 25.428 million. The number of 3G users decreased from 2.10 million to 2.047 million, while 4G users increased from 16.43 million to 16.47 million. These figures indicate a general trend of decline in 3G subscriptions, while 4G subscriptions continue to see moderate growth across the major telecom operators.
