Islamabad, Oct 16: 80 Pakistani Companies Showcase Innovations at GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai, A Major Leap for Tech Advancement. “As the Tech Destination, Pakistan made a remarkable impact at GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai with the grand inauguration of Pakistan Pavilion and the much-anticipated Pakistan Night, hosted by P@SHA and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) in coordination,” said Sajjad Mustafa Syed, chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA).
These events, according to Syed, highlighted Pakistan’s thriving IT industry and enhanced its standing as GITEX Global’s official Tech Destination of the Year. He informed them that prominent figures from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Raheel Iqbal, Vice Chairman P@SHA, Muhammad Umair Nizam, Senior Vice Chairman P@SHA, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, and CEOs of some of Pakistan’s leading IT companies were present at the inauguration ceremony.
According to the P@SHA chief, being named a Tech Destination of the Year on a global scale is nothing short of revolutionary and lays the groundwork for the nation’s IT and ITeS exports to grow exponentially if it is capitalized through consistent trade, taxation, SME, IT industry, and STZA-related policies.
According to Muhammad Umair Nizam, Pakistan Night provided a unique networking opportunity for government representatives, tech innovators, and industry executives. Participants had in-depth conversations regarding possible joint ventures, investments, commercial alliances, and bilateral cooperation, highlighting the close linkages between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates across a range of IT industries.
The association’s vital role in promoting economic growth and human resource development was emphasized by P@SHA Treasurer Haris Naseer, while Dr. Sohail Munir went into detail about the significant contributions made by Pakistan’s IT sector to the UAE’s digital revolution.
According to Raheel Iqbal, 80 Pakistani enterprises took part in the event, which is strategic in nature because they came from allied or supporting industries, IT, ITeS, and various hi-tech sub-sectors. He went on to say that this strategy successfully builds the IT ecosystem required for any nation’s socioeconomic development.
Ali Zaib Khan, Trade & Investment Counselor at the Pakistan Embassy UAE, was another notable speaker who underlined the significance of enhancing tech ties between Pakistan and the UAE. With the aid of significant turning points, Zeeshan Rehman Khattak, Acting CEO of PSEB, gave a perceptive summary of Pakistan’s thriving IT sector.
The Secretary General of P@SHA, Nadeem Malik, emphasized that GITEX Global 2024 was a unique opportunity for Pakistan because it produced concrete agreements, memorandums of understanding, and business-to-business connections.
Faisal Niaz Tirmizi gave closing remarks at the event, reinforcing the importance of bilateral cooperation in emerging technologies between the UAE and Pakistan, two brotherly nations, through a variety of complementary trade relations and business-to-business (B2B) and government-to-government (G2G) synergistic partnerships.
