In a significant move for overseas Pakistanis, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has set up an Overseas Litigants Facilitation Cell to assist expatriates in pursuing court-related matters.
According to an official statement, overseas Pakistanis will be able to approach the facilitation cell through a dedicated WhatsApp number and an online portal. Only cases pertaining to the Supreme Court will be registered with the cell, while the facility will remain accessible to all Pakistanis living abroad.
Through the cell, expatriates will be able to file applications, lodge complaints, and request early hearings. Case details and certified copies of judgments will also be provided online, with all records to be stored digitally.
