Rainfall across Pakistan during September 01–08, 2025 was significantly higher compared to the same period in 2024. Overall, Pakistan recorded a 74.3% above-normal rainfall in 2025, in contrast to a -6.6% below-normal rainfall in 2024.
Provincial Rainfall Breakdown
- Sindh: From near-normal (+0.7%) in 2024 to an extraordinary +159.5% surplus in 2025.
- Punjab: Shifted from a -7.7% deficit in 2024 to a strong +82% surplus in 2025.
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Improved from -17.8% deficit to +61% surplus.
- Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK): Above normal in both years (+16.0% in 2024 and +49.3% in 2025).
- Gilgit-Baltistan (GB): Consistently high, with +37.9% in 2024 and an exceptional +119.9% surplus in 2025.
- Balochistan: The only region with deficits in both years (-13.9% in 2024 and -36.8% in 2025).

The rainfall pattern in 2025 reflects a sharp increase across most regions, especially in Sindh, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan, marking a major contrast to the below-normal trend of 2024. Balochistan, however, remains the only province with consistent rainfall shortages.
