Following the notice taken by the Federal Interior Minister regarding the sale of citizens’ SIM and other data on the internet, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched a probe.
According to sources, the investigation has revealed that, in addition to websites, several mobile applications were also being used for selling the data. The NCCIA special team has begun analyzing both websites and apps.
Sources further stated that authorities are examining whether the data was stolen before or after 2023. It has also been decided to arrest those involved in selling the data through these platforms.

Websites and mobile apps identified as selling citizens’ data will be completely blocked in Pakistan, sources confirmed.
