The Excise Department of Punjab has given a big relief to citizens owning cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles. From September 1, number plates of all registered vehicles and motorcycles in Punjab have been automatically transferred to the names of their owners without requiring any application.

According to details, earlier the Excise Department had instructed owners to submit applications for number plate transfers. However, more than 23.6 million vehicles and motorcycles have now had their number plates transferred directly to their owners’ names. This has been officially confirmed by Director General Excise, Umar Sher Chattha.

The registrations and transfers of cars and motorcycles have been updated based on the owner’s CNIC. In Punjab alone, number plates of nearly 20 million motorcycles have been transferred to their owners, along with 2.185 million cars, 600,000+ rickshaws, 200,000+ pickups, and 100,000 trucks.

Additionally, over 500,000 tractors, 131,000+ delivery vans, 100,000 buses, and 51,000 minibuses have also had their number plates transferred to the respective owners’ names.
