In a significant move to improve healthcare for Capital Development Authority (CDA) employees, Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a key meeting at CDA Headquarters. The session, attended by CDA Board members including Talat Mahmood (Member Admin & Estate), Tahir Naeem (Member Finance), Dr. Khalid Hafeez (Member Planning & Design), Esfandyar Baloch (Member Environment), and State Life Insurance officials, focused on expanding medical insurance and hospital services.
The meeting highlighted plans to provide CDA employees and their families with top-tier healthcare through a network of leading Islamabad hospitals, alongside emergency, OPD, medicine, and lab test coverage at both CDA Hospital and private facilities. A briefing revealed that health insurance will be enhanced to cover critical illnesses, extending benefits to employees’ entire families. A key decision was to include Capital Hospital in State Life Insurance’s panel, allowing other institutional employees to benefit as well.
Chairman Randhawa directed that revenue from Capital Hospital’s panel inclusion be reinvested into upgrading facilities and ensuring equitable treatment for all staff from Grade 1 to 21. The meeting also approved an increase in OPD limits for CDA employees. Emphasizing innovation, Randhawa ordered the introduction of telemedicine and video consultation services, with plans to extend these to Basic Health Units (BHUs) in remote areas, promising prompt, quality care.
