Due to a ban on wheat shipments from Punjab, 83% of flour mills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Peshawar, have shut down, raising fears of a rise in flour prices across the province.

According to flour mill owners, there are a total of 288 flour mills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar. Following the suspension of wheat supply from Punjab, 83% of these mills have closed, leaving only 50 operational mills in the province.

The closure of flour mills has already caused a 100% increase in flour prices and sparked concerns about shortages.
