The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a stern public warning, stating that all unregistered mobile devices will soon be disconnected from local networks.

Residents are encouraged to register their phones through the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) to avoid service disruptions.

The PTA has pointed out that unregistered handsets pose a serious national security risk and may be used for financial fraud and cyberattacks. The authority underscored that possessing, selling, or operating such devices is illegal under existing regulations and could lead to penalties.

In a related development, the PTA has advised the public against buying or selling unregistered phones, noting that these devices are not recognized by the official system and cannot be legally activated. Individuals continuing to use unregistered devices may face service termination and legal repercussions.
