The Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has served legal notices to several high-profile digital creators, including Rajab Butt, Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal, Hasnain Shah, and Irum Mehmood, for their alleged involvement in promoting online gambling applications.
According to the official summons, the influencers have been directed to appear before the NCCIA headquarters in Gulberg 2 on September 15 at 11 a.m. to record their statements. The agency emphasized that this action is part of ensuring transparency and a fair legal process.
The notices further revealed that despite being called twice earlier, the creators failed to join the ongoing enquiry proceedings. Authorities have now warned that failure to appear on the given date will be treated as having no defense or statement, leaving the case to proceed without their input.
Investigators claim that these content creators were allegedly promoting unlicensed online trading and gambling apps to attract young audiences. These promotions reportedly misled people into risky investments and resulted in heavy financial losses for the public.
It is worth noting that on August 17, YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, was arrested at Allama Iqbal International Airport on similar charges of promoting gambling-related applications.
The Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has reiterated that strict measures will continue against digital influencers endorsing such unlawful platforms, with clear warnings that non-compliance will carry serious consequences.
