Kot Addu Power Company Limited (PSX: KAPCO) has completed the Initial Tested Capacity and Initial Heat Rate Test. The Initial Tested Capacity and Initial Heat Rate Test were duly completed on September 12, 2025 as per the provisions of Tripartite Power Purchase Agreement (TPPA) between Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee)
Limited, the National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited and the Company; and the Independent Engineer has issued the Capacity/Heat Rate Test Certificate accordingly, the company said in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The Effective Date of the TPPA is September 13, 2025, the notice said.
Back in May, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved the tripartite agreement, governing electricity sales from KAPCO’s 1,600 MW power plant in Kot Addu, Punjab. According to KAPCO’s notice at the time, NEPRA granted approval of the TPPA on May 19, 2025, subject to certain conditions being met.
The conditions included conducting an Initial Capacity Test (ICT) and Heat Rate Test (HRT) to benchmark efficiency, with an independent engineer evaluating and determining Simple Cycle Efficiency/Heat Rate numbers.

Once these requirements are fulfilled, the TPPA will become effective for the operational phase of the power plant, KAPCO said at the time.
