The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Wednesday approved seven development schemes and a position paper worth an estimated Rs. 16 billion across agriculture, livestock, health, and tourism sectors.
The PDWP’s 30th meeting, chaired by Planning and Development Board Punjab Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf, also cleared the Punjab Climate Resilient and Low Carbon Agriculture Mechanisation Project (P-CLAMP) for CDWP at a projected cost of Rs. 36.12 billion.
Among the approved initiatives were key Chief Minister’s programmes, including Herd Transformation to Enhance Livestock Productivity (Phase I) at Rs. 5.698 billion and the Livestock Card (revised) scheme at Rs. 3.409 billion.
Other livestock-related projects included the Livestock Asset Transfer to Rural Women in South Punjab (revised), estimated at Rs. 2 billion.
In the health sector, approvals were granted for the construction of the Punjab Healthcare Commission Head Office at LDA Avenue, Lahore (Rs. 500 million), and the expansion of critical care services with 150 ICU beds, ventilators, and essential equipment in tertiary hospitals across Punjab (Rs. 1 billion).
For tourism and heritage, the working party approved the master plan for conservation, rehabilitation, improvement, and upgradation of Lahore Museum at a cost of Rs. 692 billion.

Additionally, the PDWP approved a position paper for converting TB Sanatorium Samli, Murree, into a 350-bed general hospital.
