vivo has officially unveiled its latest Y-series smartphones — the vivo Y31 5G and Y31 Pro 5G debut has generated major buzz among budget 5G enthusiasts. Both devices arrive as successors to the popular Y29 lineup, bringing larger batteries, improved chipsets, and modern designs to capture mid-range users.
Bigger Battery and Stronger Protection
The standard vivo Y31 5G comes with a 6.68-inch IPS LCD featuring HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1000 nits brightness. An 8MP front camera is neatly placed in a punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls.
Under the hood, the phone swaps last year’s Dimensity 6300 for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, delivering smoother performance. Powering the device is a massive 6,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. A major upgrade is the IP68/69 dust and water resistance rating, a big step up from the Y29’s IP64.
On the back, the Y31 5G sports a 50MP main sensor paired with a secondary 0.08MP lens. The smartphone runs Android 15 topped with OriginOS 15 and is offered in two variants — 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB. Buyers can choose from stylish Rose Red and Diamond Green colors. Pricing starts at $170 for the base variant and $187 for the higher configuration.
Enhanced Display and Powerful Chipset
The vivo Y31 5G and Y31 Pro 5G debut also includes the more advanced Pro model, which boasts a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1050 nits peak brightness. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and gaming.
In terms of cameras, the Y31 Pro 5G is equipped with a 50MP main lens supported by a 2MP depth sensor. The device houses the same 6,500mAh battery as its sibling with 44W charging support. However, unlike the regular model, the Pro version only carries an IP64 splash-resistant rating.

Available in Mocha Brown and Dreamy White finishes, the Y31 Pro 5G is priced at $215 for the 8GB + 128GB option and $238 for the 8GB + 256GB model.
