Speculation has been circulating on social media about a possible public holiday in Pakistan on September 23 (Tuesday).

However, no official notification has been issued by the federal or provincial governments. The reports being shared online actually refer to Saudi Arabia, not Pakistan. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced September 23 as a public holiday for both government and private sector employees in observance of the Kingdom’s 95th National Day.

The day marks the historic unification of Saudi Arabia in 1932 under King Abdulaziz Al Saud. Each year, the occasion is celebrated with cultural events, fireworks, concerts, and patriotic displays. On this day, schools, banks, offices, and other institutions in the Kingdom remain closed for the nationwide festivities.
