Islamabad Traffic Police have given citizens until October 1 to obtain their driving licenses. After the deadline, strict action will be taken against drivers found behind the wheel without a valid license, Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Humayun warned.
Those caught driving cars or motorcycles without a license will face registration of cases, arrests, and vehicle impoundment. The crackdown will be carried out indiscriminately, regardless of a driver’s background.
To facilitate citizens, Islamabad Traffic Police are providing licensing services at Faizabad Traffic Office, F-6 Facilitation Center, and through mobile traffic facilitation vans until October 1.
Authorities in Islamabad recently stepped-up enforcement against traffic violations, registering 165 First Information Reports (FIRs) against drivers involved in illegal parking and wrong-way driving, with a wider zero-tolerance campaign now underway.
