Pink Taxi Scheme in Sindh has been announced by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to provide women with safe and reliable transport.
Speaking at a ceremony in Karachi where he handed over free electric pink scooters to women, Bilawal said this was just the beginning. He added that the Sindh government would soon launch the Pink Taxi Scheme, making travel more secure and comfortable for women.
He recalled that the provincial government had already introduced electric buses and the Pink Bus Service in Karachi, making Sindh the first province to offer women-only public transport facilities.
He further added that the electric bike scheme is designed especially for female students and working women, so they can manage their academic and professional journeys with ease.
