The Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) began much-anticipated review talks in Islamabad on Monday, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The session is aimed at reviewing progress from earlier technical discussions and mapping out the government’s fiscal roadmap. Senior officials attending include Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmed, and Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial.

The IMF mission, led by Pakistan’s Mission Chief Iva Petrova, is in Islamabad to hold discussions on the second review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the first review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).

Last week, the FBR presented updated revenue data during technical-level talks with the Fund.
