The Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA) Punjab has approved the expansion of three private-sector Special Economic Zones, paving the way for major industrial growth and job creation.

According to Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, the expanded zones will attract industries in electronics, home appliances, food, cement, and other sectors, creating 26,000 employment opportunities.

He shared the update while chairing the 10th meeting of SEZA Punjab at the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) on Tuesday.

The meeting reviewed an eight-point agenda, considered multiple applications related to SEZs, and decided to forward approved cases to the Board of Investment in Islamabad for further processing. It also sanctioned the formation of a sub-committee under SEZA Punjab to hear investor appeals and address grievances.
