The Punjab government has decided to expand the Ration Card Scheme.
For the low-income middle class, an additional Rs. 40 billion will be spent under the scheme. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the proposal to expand the Ration Card Scheme. Through this, 1.5 to 2 million middle-class families across all districts will be supported.
The scheme will include as many middle-class families as possible. The total volume of the Ration Card Scheme will reach Rs. 80 billion.
The Punjab government has already announced to provide ration cards to 1.2 million industrial workers.

Under the scheme, registered industrial workers are being given Rs. 3,000 per family through ration cards. Overall, industrial workers will receive Rs. 40 billion through the Ration Card Scheme.
