Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz unveils a major development package for Murree, including new hospitals, a train service from Rawalpindi, improved transport, tourism projects, upgraded schools and a planned wildlife park.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced an extensive development plan for Murree, targeting healthcare, transportation, tourism, and infrastructure improvements.
During the inauguration of the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Center in Samli, she highlighted her personal connection to Murree, calling it her second home. The plan includes a new modern hospital in Bhurban and a 110-bed facility in Kotli, alongside operational health centers and mobile clinics.
For transport and tourism, Maryam Nawaz unveiled a train service from Rawalpindi to Murree, 15 green buses for visitors, and plans for eco-friendly electric buses. A special force has been deployed to assist tourists, while expressways and upgraded road networks are already enhancing accessibility and tourism.

Infrastructure and environmental initiatives include a multi-billion-rupee water supply scheme, school upgrades, and a proposed wildlife park. She also stressed that illegal constructions will not be allowed, ensuring Murree’s natural beauty is preserved.
