The Punjab government has announced that 40 additional electric buses will soon hit the roads of Lahore.

Chief Minister Punjab will inaugurate the new fleet on October 3 (tomorrow), after which the total number of electric buses in the provincial capital will rise to 67.

With the addition of these buses, routes will be restructured to provide improved connectivity, marking a fresh phase of electric bus operations in the city.

The buses are equipped with modern facilities including GPS, Wi-Fi, USB ports, and ramps for persons with disabilities. They also feature designated seating, a separate section for women, and onboard cameras for passenger safety.

Around 43,000 commuters are expected to benefit from the service daily. Passengers will be able to pay fares via digital wallets and smart cards, while an app will allow real-time bus tracking.
