Ahead of the upcoming T20 series against South Africa and preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha and head coach Mike Hesson have held detailed discussions to strengthen the team combination.
Sources said the team management prefers to continue with the current squad rather than recalling senior players. The return of former captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan is considered highly unlikely, while Salman Ali Agha is expected to bat at the crucial number three position.
The selection committee and team management are expected to meet soon to finalize the squad, with plans to start the white-ball players’ training camp during the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
Despite a disappointing Asia Cup performance, management has decided to retain confidence in Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris. However, changes in the fast-bowling department are expected, as selectors plan to test new pacers in place of Haris Rauf.

Both Mike Hesson and Salman Ali Agha were reportedly disappointed by the Asia Cup final loss, but they believe in maintaining consistency and giving the existing squad more time to settle before the World Cup.
