After nearly two days of complete disruption, mobile and internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been partially restored.
The suspension, which began at midnight on Friday, had disrupted communication across the twin cities as part of heightened security measures ordered by the Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had enforced the suspension of 3G and 4G services in coordination with the Commissioners and Police Chiefs of both cities. The move came ahead of a planned protest by a religious group that led to widespread traffic disruptions and limited public movement.
