The Islamabad-Lahore Motorway (M-2) has been closed at Faizpur, Kala Shah Kaku, and Babu Sabu interchanges due to protests by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), the Motorway Police confirmed on Monday.

According to Motorway Police spokesperson Yasir Mahmood, the M-2 remains open up to the Kot Momin Interchange. He said that reports indicated the presence of protesters at several key points, including Faizpur, Kala Shah Kaku, and Babu Sabu interchanges.

Following reports of stone-pelting incidents by demonstrators, authorities decided to close these interchanges for security reasons.

The spokesperson further added that the M-1 Motorway, connecting Peshawar to Islamabad, remains open; however, heavy traffic has been temporarily barred from entering.
