The metro bus service in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has resumed operations today (Tuesday).
The service had been suspended on Friday following a protest call by a political party and remained closed from Friday through Monday.
The suspension of the metro service caused significant inconvenience for daily commuters, particularly office workers, students, and low-income travelers who rely on the metro as an affordable and dependable mode of transport.

Many were forced to take alternative transport options, often at much higher fares and with longer travel times.
The disruption came amid widespread road blockages in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other major cities over the past several days. Several key routes, including parts of the motorway network, were also closed during the protests, severely affecting intercity travel and logistics.
In Lahore, the Orange Line Metro Train service was also suspended due to the tense situation, but it too has now resumed, with normal transport operations gradually being restored across major cities.
