Pakistan’s solar energy capacity, including off-grid systems and net metering installations, has surged to nearly 18,000 megawatts, marking a major milestone in the country’s renewable energy transition.

However, this rapid growth has also placed increasing pressure on the national power grid, prompting the government to closely monitor the integration of renewable energy sources.

Officials informed a parliamentary committee that power losses have dropped significantly, from Rs. 600 billion in 2024 to Rs. 397 billion in 2025, reflecting some improvement in efficiency.
