Local mobile companies in Pakistan manufactured/assembled 3.01 million units during September 2025, up 40 percent year-on-year (YoY) and 55 percent month-on-month (MoM), according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
In a note, brokerage house Topline Securities said the YoY growth largely reflects a low base from September 2024, when sales remained subdued due to excessive pre-buying in June 2024 ahead of expected changes in the budget.
The MoM increase, on the other hand, was primarily driven by pent up demand, as consumers delayed purchases in anticipation of new model launches.
Major brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi and Infinix introduced their latest smartphones (Galaxy $25 FE, Redmi 15 series, and Infinix Note 40X 5G) during the month, prompting a surge in replacement and upgrade activity.
During 9M2025, locally manufactured/assembled mobile phone sales stood at 22.78 million units, up 1 percent YoY.

Of the 22.78 million locally assembled mobile phones in 9M2025, 48 percent (10.86 million units) were 2G phones, while the remaining 52 percent (11.92 million units) were smartphones.
Pakistan fulfilled 94 percent of its mobile phone demand through local manufacturing/assembly during 9M2025.
