Applications are completed entirely online through Shanghai’s “One-Stop Service” platform.
Processing Steps:
- The Municipal Talent Affairs Bureau reviews applications within 5 working days.
- The Public Security Bureau issues the digital residence permit within 10 business days after approval.
These digital permits are stored in Shanghai’s unified credential system and hold the same legal value as physical cards.
