The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has imposed fines totaling Rs 100 million on four power distribution companies for violations of regulatory rules.
The penalties include Rs. 50 million on Gujranwala Electric Power Company, Rs. 40 million on Quetta Electric Supply Company, and Rs. 10 million each on Faisalabad Electric Supply Company and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company.

The regulator has directed the companies to deposit the fines in the authority’s designated bank account within 15 days and submit proof of payment to the Registrar’s Office.
In case of non-compliance, the fines will be recovered as arrears of land revenue under Section 41 of the NEPRA Act, in addition to any further legal action.
