Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath chaired a meeting on the establishment of the Command and Control Center for Ring Road. The meeting was attended by Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf, Chairman Punjab Ring Road Authority Faisal Fareed and other senior officials.

During the briefing, it was shared that the upcoming Command and Control Center will monitor around 150,000 vehicles daily passing through the Ring Road. The system aims to improve traffic management and keep strict watch on traffic law violations.

According to Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath, the center will be linked with the Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The setup will include speed radars, AI-controlled cameras, weigh stations and sensors to monitor mobile phone usage during driving.

The minister further said the Command and Control Center will be built inside the Ring Road Authority’s head office, featuring 42 large display screens and 20 analytical monitors for real-time surveillance.

The entire project, costing Rs. 871 million, is expected to be completed within four months. Once operational, it will be managed through the authority’s HR department.
