The Sindh government has approved the expansion of the People’s Bus Service to Khairpur, Shikarpur, and Naushahro Feroze, aiming to make public transport more accessible for people in interior Sindh.

The decision was made during a meeting of the transport department, chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, where officials reviewed progress on various mass transit projects.

According to the official statement, 20 new buses will be added to the fleet under this expansion. The move is part of the government’s effort to provide affordable and reliable transport options to residents of the newly included districts.

During the meeting, the minister also discussed new transport initiatives planned for Karachi, including double-decker and electric buses, as well as Sindh’s first electric taxi service, which is expected to start operating in December.
