Islamabad, Aug 14: The Mahandri Bridge was successfully rebuilt by the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) after flash floods on July 30, 2024, damaged the original structure.
According to specifics, the bridge’s reopening has allowed traffic to resume on the crucial Naran-Kaghan corridor, giving locals and visitors alike much-needed respite. Key routes linking Mansehra, Kaghan, Naran, and Babusar were blocked by the collapse of the bridge, severely disrupting traffic and causing hardship for the impacted populations. The National Highway Authority (NHA) and FWO immediately started reconstruction work on an emergency basis because to the severity of the situation.
The Pakistan Army was instrumental in the project’s completion by providing vital equipment, and the FWO utilized its labor force and equipment to work nonstop. With their joint efforts, this vital infrastructure link has been successfully restored, allowing all kinds of traffic to resume.
