The milestone was achieved during the first T20I between South Africa and Pakistan in Durban on December 10, where the 24-year-old delivered a stellar spell of 3/22, bringing his T20I wickets to 100. His overall record includes 112 ODI and 116 Test dismissals.
Shaheen’s crucial breakthroughs included dismissing Rassie van der Dussen for a golden duck, removing a dangerous David Miller, and trapping Nqabayomzi Peter lbw. However, despite his remarkable contributions, Pakistan fell 11 runs short of the 184-run target set by South Africa. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan’s fighting 74 kept Pakistan in the game, but a lack of support from the other batters ultimately led to their defeat.
