England vs Australia Injury-stricken Australia displayed their depth and dominance in the Women’s Ashes, securing a convincing 57-run victory over England in the first T20I at the SCG. Beth Mooney led the charge with a brilliant 75 off 51 balls, guiding Australia to a formidable 198/7. Despite missing key players Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner, the hosts put on a stellar performance.
England’s chase began with promise as Sophia Dunkley smashed a rapid 59 off 30 balls, keeping her side in contention. However, the Australian spin duo of Georgia Wareham and Alana King dismantled the batting lineup, restricting England to just 141 in 16 overs. The middle and lower order collapsed, losing five wickets for just 25 runs.
