Islamabad, Feb 1: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to take a giant leap into the digital era by launching its own Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming platform, a move aimed at transforming how cricket content is consumed across Pakistan and beyond. The board has already floated a tender, inviting proposals from globally recognized firms specializing in high-quality digital streaming solutions.
This initiative marks a significant shift in PCB’s digital strategy, focusing on enhanced fan engagement through a seamless, scalable, and feature-rich streaming experience. With the global sports industry increasingly adopting dedicated OTT platforms, PCB’s entry into this space aligns with international trends, ensuring direct access to premium cricket content.
According to PCB, the upcoming OTT service will not only provide live streaming of matches but also offer exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, highlights, and other premium content tailored for cricket enthusiasts worldwide. The platform is expected to feature advanced in-app services, allowing for efficient content distribution, monetization, and an overall immersive viewing experience.

The tender process is now open, with interested firms able to obtain the document free of cost during working hours (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST) until February 28, 2025. Queries regarding the tender must be submitted in writing, with only official responses considered valid.
The core motivation behind PCB’s OTT venture is to establish greater control over its digital content, reducing reliance on third-party streaming services. By doing so, PCB aims to deliver an uninterrupted, high-quality cricket viewing experience directly to its audience while maximizing its digital revenue potential.
With the growing demand for on-the-go sports streaming, PCB’s decision to introduce its own OTT service is expected to be a game-changer, setting new standards for cricket broadcasting in Pakistan.
