Islamabad, Feb 22: The University of Sargodha (UoS) and the Punjab Council of the Arts, Sargodha Division, have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering academic and cultural collaborations.
The agreement, signed by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization at UoS, and Asad Ahmed, Director of the Punjab Council of the Arts, Sargodha, marks a significant step towards enriching student experiences through hands-on learning opportunities.
Under this partnership, students from UoS will benefit from internships, specialized training programs, and access to theatre and gallery spaces for exhibitions. The initiative will extend beyond practical exposure, with the introduction of joint academic programs, including short courses and certifications in media, theatre, content writing, playwriting, drama performance, film and television, creative writing, and video production.
The Punjab Council of the Arts has also committed to accommodating 150 to 200 students each semester across four Art & Design programs, offering them access to art galleries and hall spaces for thesis displays and creative showcases.
Additionally, the University of Sargodha will collaborate with the Council to place students in internship programs, co-host cultural events, and contribute to media campaigns and research initiatives that promote local culture, music, and indigenous languages.
Beyond education and training, both institutions have agreed to align their efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other shared objectives, ensuring a long-term impact on the preservation and promotion of regional cultural heritage. This collaboration is set to open new doors for students while strengthening the artistic and academic landscape in Sargodha.
