Islamabad, Mar 11 2025: For the first time, the Punjab School Education Department (SED) has introduced Advanced Technology to Curb Exam Cheating.
Face detection technology to prevent cheating in the 2025 annual matriculation exams, marking a major step toward ensuring exam integrity.
On Monday, Punjab Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat and Chairman Task Force for Education Muzammil Mehmood conducted surprise inspections at high-risk examination centers along Raiwind Road to monitor the implementation of new security measures.
During their visit, officials utilized a 3D barcode system to verify student identities, assessed exam arrangements, and gathered feedback from candidates.

Minister Hayat commended the examination staff for maintaining order, emphasizing that historically problematic centers on Raiwind Road had seen a dramatic reduction in cheating incidents.
“Previously, these centers were notorious for rampant cheating, but our reforms have brought about a 90% decrease, setting a new benchmark for transparency,” he stated.
Reported cases of misconduct have dropped from 15-20 daily last year to merely 2-3 cases this year.
This initiative aligns with the Punjab Chief Minister’s vision of achieving 100% exam transparency by next year and introduce Advanced Technology to Curb Exam Cheating..
To further strengthen monitoring, special inspection teams have been deployed in key districts, including Daska, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, and Lahore.
Advancing the Examination Process
To modernize examination management, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has introduced QR-coded online roll number slips for the first time.
The QR code system facilitates instant data verification, reducing the chances of fraud and impersonation.
Additionally, an automated staff deployment system ensures fair and unbiased duty assignments, eliminating favoritism and malpractice.
According to Controller of Examinations Zahid Mian, these technological advancements aim to deliver a more secure, efficient, and transparent examination process.
