Islamabad, March 21 2025: Parachinar Airport, a Joint Board of Officers (BOO), comprising officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL). Recently visited Parachinar Airport to evaluate its potential for commercial Flights and humanitarian flights.
The assessment was carried out under the directives of the Ministry of Defence, with an eight-member committee including six representatives from PAA and two from PIACL conducting a thorough inspection of the airport’s infrastructure.
Led by Younas Lugman Qazi, Additional Director Operations at Islamabad International Airport (IIAP), the team included key officials such as Mohsin Ahmad Ghouri.

Deputy Airport Manager at Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIAP), and Engineer Shah Jahan, Senior Joint Technical Officer (JTO) CNS at BKIAP.
During their visit, the officials carried out a detailed review of Parachinar Airport’s operational facilities, including the terminal building, runway, fire garages, accommodation, generator rooms, and other essential infrastructure.
The primary objective was to assess whether the airport meets the requirements for resuming flight operations.
Following the inspection, the BOO members held discussions with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Parachinar to deliberate on the airport’s revival and future operational plans.
A feasibility report will now be compiled based on the findings of the inspection. This report will help determine the next steps for reactivating the Parachinar airport to support commercial Flights and humanitarian efforts.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) reaffirmed its commitment to expanding air connectivity across the country, ensuring remote areas like Parachinar gain better access to aviation services.
