Islamabad, Mar 22, 2025: The Sindh government has officially declared public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, granting three days off from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
A notification issued by the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department of Sindh confirmed the holiday schedule, aligning with the federal government’s decision to facilitate nationwide Eid celebrations.
Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 Moon Sighting and Expected Date
Muslims will likely celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 on Monday, March 31, after completing 29 days of Ramadan.
However, the final date depends on the sighting of the Shawwal moon.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council expects the new moon to be visible on the evening of Sunday, March 30, if weather conditions remain clear.
Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the Council, stated that by sunset on March 30, the moon will be over 26 hours old, making it easily visible across different regions of Pakistan.

With these favorable conditions, experts predict a high likelihood of the moon being sighted, leading to Eid-ul-Fitr festivities commencing on Monday, March 31.
Final Decision by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee
The official Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene on March 30 to make the formal announcement regarding the moon sighting.
However, confirmed, the Sindh government’s announced holiday schedule will remain in effect, allowing the public to celebrate Eid with their families.
