Islamabad, 25 March 2025: Pakistan is evaluating potential squad changes for the final T20I against New Zealand in Wellington after losing the series 3-1.
The below-par performances of senior players, including Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan, have led to discussions about adjustments.
Shadab has struggled with both bat and ball, managing only 30 runs in four matches while conceding 110 runs in 11 overs and securing just one wicket.
The left-arm pacer has also found it difficult to make an impact, conceding 133 runs in 13 overs while picking up only two wickets at an average of 66.50.
On the bowling front, Haris Rauf has been standout performer for the Men in Green, claiming a total of eight wickets at an average of 9.50.

In the batting lineup, Agha Salman has been the top scorer for the team with 116 runs in four matches, closely followed by Hasan Nawaz with 106 runs.
Despite the ongoing struggles of the national side, Pakistan has not yet fielded Omair Bin Yousuf, Sufiyan Muqeem, or Usman Khan in the series.
Former captain Shahid Afridi has advised the management to rest Shaheen Afridi and and vice captain of the shortest format for the final match.
He suggested on social media platform X that, with the series already lost, the team should give opportunities to untested players.
Pakistan reached Wellington from Mount Maunganui on Monday and is set to begin preparations with a practice session on Tuesday.

Critics have raised concerns over the squad’s overall strategy, urging a more balanced approach.
Pakistan endured their worst-ever T20I defeat in the fourth match, losing by 115 runs—New Zealand’s biggest victory margin in the format.
After the match, captain Agha Salman pointed out that increased swing in the second innings made batting difficult but remained hopeful for an improved performance in the final game.
