Islamabad, April 03: In less than three months, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has once again raised toll taxes on motorways and highways, with increases ranging from 15% to 50%, effective April 1.
The previous hike occurred on January 5.
Under the latest revision, car tolls have increased from Rs60 to Rs70, while vans and jeeps now pay Rs150 instead of Rs100.
The toll for buses has risen to Rs250 from Rs200.
Owners of two- and three-axle trucks will now pay Rs300, up from Rs250, while articulated trucks face a new toll of Rs550, compared to the previous Rs500.
Motorway tolls have also been revised across key routes, including M1, M3, M4, M5, M14, and E35.
The Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M1) now charges Rs550 for cars, up from Rs500.

The M3 Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway fee has risen from Rs700 to Rs800.
For larger vehicles on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway, the new tolls are:
Wagons or 12-seaters: Rs850
13-15 seaters/coasters/minibuses: Rs1,150
Buses: Rs1,650
Two- and three-axle trucks: Rs2,150
Articulated trucks: Rs2,650
Tolls on the M4 Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad-Multan Motorway have increased from Rs950 to Rs1,050 for cars, while the M5 Multan-Sukkur Motorway toll has risen from Rs1,100 to Rs1,200. The M14 Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway toll is now Rs650, up from Rs600.
The E35 Hasan Abdal-Havelian-Mansehra Motorway toll has also jumped from Rs250 to Rs300.
For larger vehicles, revised toll rates now range from Rs850 to Rs5,750, depending on the vehicle type and route.
The NHA has not provided a detailed justification for the hike, but the adjustments align with periodic revisions in road maintenance and infrastructure costs.
