Islamabad, April 4, 2025: Sikandar Raza has expressed hope for a turnaround in fortunes as the Lahore Qalandars prepare for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The two-time PSL champions endured a disappointing campaign last season, managing to win only one match and ending at the bottom of the points table with just three points.
Reflecting on their underwhelming performance, Raza admitted the team had made mistakes during their title defence but remained confident of a stronger showing this year.
Speaking during the training camp, the Zimbabwean cricketer noted that the players were motivated and ready to put past errors behind them.
The star all-rounder said the squad had been working hard to rectify the issues that had plagued their performance in the previous edition.

Without naming specifics, Raza suggested that the team had learned valuable lessons and was looking forward to the upcoming matches with renewed energy.
He expressed excitement about returning to the field and emphasised the squad’s belief in its potential.
While addressing the absence of star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who will miss the tournament due to personal reasons, Raza acknowledged the impact of his unavailability.
He described Rashid as a key figure in the team and a member of the Qalandars family.
However, he also expressed trust in the abilities of the spinner replacing him, stating that the new player possessed significant talent.

The 38-year-old cricketer also praised COO Sameen Rana for making wise coaching decisions amid recent changes.
Following the temporary move of Aqib Javed to coach the national team, Darren Gough had been named as his replacement.
But with Gough withdrawing weeks before the event due to personal commitments, the Qalandars have now appointed Russell Domingo as head coach for the 2025 season.
Despite the late adjustments, the team remains focused on a positive start to PSL 10.
