Islamabad, April 4, 2025: Pakistani spinner Sajid Khan has raised eyebrows with a surprising remark about his life outside cricket.
In a light-hearted TV appearance, the 31-year-old spinner jokingly revealed he might have become a gangster if not for cricket.
During a rapid-fire round on ARY News, Sajid was asked what profession he would have chosen if cricket hadn’t worked out.
He calmly replied that he would have been a gangster, prompting the host to laugh and remark on tough persona of the top spinner.

Despite the dramatic claim, the segment was delivered in a humorous tone, and Sajid remained relaxed throughout the interview.
The spinner also used the opportunity to praise two cricketing greats, calling Babar Azam “the best player in the world” and hailing Virat Kohli as “India greatest ever.”
Sajid, who has played 12 Test matches and taken 59 wickets at an average of 27.28, played a crucial role in Pakistan’s Test series win against England last year.
After Pakistan lost the first match, the inclusion of Sajid and spinning-friendly pitches helped turn the series around, leading to a 2-1 victory.

Earlier in his career, the spinner made his Test debut in 2021 against Zimbabwe in Harare but went wicketless in his first outing.
However, he soon made a name for himself, particularly with his fiery on-field energy.
In the second Test against the West Indies, he caught attention with a wrestling-inspired celebration after bowling a sharp delivery past Jomel Warrican.
Sajid last appeared for Pakistan came in a Test series against West Indies, where he claimed 15 wickets. However, the series ended in a 1-1 draw.
His recent comments may have been tongue-in-cheek, but they’ve certainly added a new dimension to the public persona of one of Pakistan’s most animated cricketers.
