Islamabad, Apr 7, 2025: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is attracting significant interest from potential franchise buyers both at home and abroad.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer revealed that individuals from Pakistan and the United States have expressed keen interest in joining the league.
Naseer explained that groundwork for the addition of new teams is underway, but major steps will follow the conclusion of the current season.
He shared that while data is still being collected and team valuations are pending, a clearer picture is expected to emerge in the coming months.

Questions regarding the potential price tag for a new franchise, possibly in the billions, were deemed premature at this stage.
Addressing the financial health, Naseer stated that while he could not speak for every team, it is likely that most franchises are operating profitably.
Regarding the finances of Multan Sultans, he suggested it would be more appropriate to seek direct clarification from their management.
Naseer noted the steady financial growth of the league, with rising media and sponsorship revenues shared among teams.

He emphasized that this positive trend is expected to continue as the PSL enters its tenth season.
The CEO also discussed the idea of hosting PSL matches overseas, saying it is something that should certainly happen. However, no final decision has been made.
During a visit to the U.S. with Mohsin Naqvi, he noted the enthusiastic response from international stakeholders, reinforcing the PSL’s global appeal.
When asked about the prospect of a face-off between PSL and IPL champion teams, Naseer clarified that such discussions have not yet taken place.
He acknowledged that a packed international schedule made such matchups difficult, forcing the PSL to shift its window this year and overlap with the IPL.
