Islamabad, Apr 18, 2025: In a significant move to enhance educational accessibility, the Sindh government has launched the Sindh Book Bank Initiative, which will be implemented in both public and private schools throughout the province.
This initiative aims to encourage students to donate their used textbooks, ensuring that learning resources are available for those who struggle to afford new books.
The rising inflation has made it increasingly difficult for parents to provide quality education for their children, as many families are finding it challenging to meet the financial demands.
Acknowledging this issue, the Sindh government has set up the Sindh Book Bank Initiative to assist underprivileged students in obtaining the necessary study materials.
The program motivates students to contribute their pre-owned books to the cause, which will then be collected and stored in designated school repositories.
These books will be distributed to students in need, fostering a culture of collaboration and resource-sharing.

Additionally, the Sindh government will continue its distribution of free textbooks, initially providing books for primary school students, followed by secondary school textbooks in the subsequent phase.
The Sindh Book Bank Initiative is expected to alleviate the financial burden on families while promoting the efficient use of educational resources.
Previously, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced plans to offer free school bags and textbooks to all public-school students in the region.
In another noteworthy decision, the Sindh government has increased the annual budget for Parent-Teacher Councils from 5 billion to 7 billion rupees, aiming to further enhance school infrastructure.
These steps are designed to ease financial pressures on families and encourage greater school enrollment.
